  • Donation amount and payment information (collected and processed by our payment processor, described in Section 3 below; MAP does not directly receive or store your full payment card details)

  • Any other information you choose to share with us, such as a message describing your circumstances or interest in our programs
     

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:

  • Pages visited and time spent on our website

  • Process and acknowledge donations

  • Communicate with you, including sending updates, newsletters, or information about our programs

  • Respond to inquiries and provide support

  • Evaluate eligibility for and administer our Destination, Waypoint, Navigation, and Compass programs, once those programs become available

  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it

  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, including those related to our nonprofit status

We do not sell donor or visitor information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use third party services to help operate our organization, including Zeffy for payment processing, Google Workspace for email and document management, Wix for website hosting, and an email marketing platform (such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact) for newsletters and updates. These providers process information on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy and security practices.

  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MAP, our participants, or others.

  • Business changes. If MAP were to merge with or transfer operations to another nonprofit organization, donor and participant information may be transferred as part of that process, subject to this Privacy Policy or a comparable one.
     

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
 

4. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

  • Opt out of communications. You can unsubscribe from our email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly.

  • Request access, correction, or deletion. You may contact us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request that we delete your information, subject to any legal or recordkeeping obligations we may have (for example, retaining donation records for tax purposes).

  • Ask questions. You may contact us at any time with questions about how your information is handled.
     

If you are located in a state or country with specific privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU General Data Protection Regulation), you may have additional rights under those laws. Please contact us and we will do our best to honor applicable requests.

Our website and programs are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
